Hi Guys,

With the fast growing data network i.e IP networks, what do you think will be the future for GSM networks?

I would to hear your opinions and thoughts on this subject.

Thanks,
Elly

well, I would't burry them too fast, they will still be of some use, some how...

Take TTCL for example, their neglect to adapot proved to be their demise. They have become ancient, like the dinosours.

I Once ead a book tiltled Mobile communications by JOCHEN Schiller .Wth introduction of IPv6 the challengngeing for Cellur technolgies including CDMA andthers is handling, establishg , mantainingg QoS conncetion when mobile device is on move

From what I read thy are working on how to mimimise dsiconnetions when a mobile device will be in movement. from one base station to another

NB
with IPv6 every mobile device can have its own unique IP adress.

C'mmon that was GSM or 2G..digital telecom came to replace analog, then it was improved to 3G in which we r living 2day..then i heared 4G is almost ready...why wud we need GSM! its like in this Era of windows XP,vista,7...talking abt the future of windows 98!
