That for the majority of Africans LIVING is an endemic a misery and that no outlet seems to be insight save for faith and hope in the favours of the ALMIGHTY. Failed leadership and failed states! Poverty, Desease and Ujinga (sorry, cant find the right word)...Ignorance?
After 50 years, post independence, where is Africa heading?

To make the matter worse, currently as we are talking we have a miserable failure in WORLD CUP!...still want to know more?

...as if our share of agony aint big enough, miserable failure say, at the bottom of the other guys we share the world with aint no good news at all.
HERE is one consolation....we contribute LAVISHLY to the well being of Bazungus. In the upshot, seems as if we are doing same all over to the Indians and lately, CHINAMAN!

may b we should start asking ourself who we are, '' simply because black look like human being does not necessarily make them sensible human being'' - mark botha ( leader of apartheid regime in RSA until late 80's )

CHA msingi ni kuanza kubadilika at individual level. Kuachana na tabia angamizi na ubinafsi. Ku-create awareness kwa wengine, and maybe baada ya karne kadhaa DNA chafu zitakuwa zimetoweka.

...strange as the dark continent consists of other colours than black...yet, it is possible to jump into the darker skinned brethren. To add but a few more denigrating a cliche like...

Jamaa wa kupelekeshwa, kutumikia, asiye dignified ila yuko bora kumlinda Master wake at any cost.

Hawa kina Umslopogaass si ndo wale wanaotawala leo...I mean wengi wao?

Hapo ni lugha ya picha. DNA haibadiliki.

This problem of mentality exist for Centuries i doubt if our DNA doesnt show any differences!, because if certain factor persist for long duration DNA tend to change (mutate), poor Africans!

Na kwakupenda kusifiwa tunapo pata copy material then tunatumia kuwa down grade wenzetu na kuhakikisha hawapati access to the original materials ili sisi tuendelee kuwa Miungu watu....Well part of this character is a long term oppression effect by bazungu ambao nadhani walifanikiwa katika ku affect attitude zetu za inferiority complex kwa ngozi nyeupe na superiority complex kwa wenzetu wa ngozi nyeusi ambao hawajawa indoctrinated by bazungus culture their education being one amongst other cultural attributes.....

I think we can design a sociological research in our behaviour and attitudes towards development achievements as compared to the bazungus using path analysis through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)

Africa has dug itself in a whole be it by our own fault or an inevitability of the reality of life. It is very hard in the current state to see the African continent make a push for any substantial development in the near future at least not as long as the current system of international affairs exists and continues to operate.

Many people see globalization as a good thing but globalization has been a good thing for wealthy and developed countries or at least those countries which prior to it already had a certain economy. What globalization has meant is that the wealthier, more powerful "units" are the one benefiting. Multinational conglomerates are the ones controlling the business world and wealthy nations are the ones controlling the political landscape.

What's even worse is that the smaller nations have been left at the mercy of the wealthy nations and a system that works for them. It is as if the fate of the worker is left to the master. What kind of master wants to see the worker surpass him? This is the position African states find themselves in. What's even worse is that we take the so called "aid" which forces as to adopt policies which plunge as deeper into this system that does nothing for us.

The way I see it Africa and especially my country Tanzania has to find other means of wealth building which are not dependent on countries which benefit from our permanent state of poverty. The problem is that we luck visionaries and are left with leaders and professionals who are more reactive than proactive.

Mwanafalsafa,

I agree with u.

IMO Africa misses stern and bold leadership. I could compare the scenario with computer analogue, Africa is like a hardware , well-functioning but its operating system is infected by a serious virus. This virus has caused a catastrophe in every aspect of the machine.

Kutokana na mifumo ya uongozi legelege, tuna miss most of the basic ingredients ambazo hazikwepeki kama kweli tunahitaji kuendelea(prerequisites). Mojawapo ni self-checking. I know under the influence of foreign interference and/or poor & pathetic leadership, it is difficult to have meaningful self-checking system. If we don't have the right people to lead us, assess the situation and know exactly were is our destiny, everything else is as good as useless. If u can't think for urself, we will never succeed in anything. Tutabaki tu kuwa kama tumekwama kwenye jahazi katikati baharini kwene kiza kinene huku kukiwa hakuna compass, nyota, jua wala mwezi kutuonesha uelekeo wa kuchukua.

Tukiongelea kisayari kwa ujumla, if we consider the fact that we can NOT remove the influences of globalization and market economy, mi nadhani serikali yetu ingeacha kufuata mkumbo na kuamua model yake yenyewe ya kufuata. Hatuhitaji kuendelea kufanya fallacy ya kufanya kitu kilekile siku zote huku hatuoni matokeo mazuri, lakini twaendelea tu kufanya. This has to STOP.

Kwa haraka naweza kufikiria yafuatayo:

1. Kubadili mifumo ya utawala, once and for all.
People from all of the current parties, civil groups, all walks of life should come together and reason on how to put in place a transparent system (government) in which at least a chunk of us will feel is ours. U can imagine time and space which is being lost kwa kufanya spins kwene media, ingetumika ktk useful way, watu wengi zaidi wangekuwa knowledgeable. etc etc.

2. Sera
It is disastrous.

Uwekezaji
Sera kuhusu uwekezaji inahitaji kufanyiwa serious revision and overhaul.Principle ya kwanza ambayo nadhani ingeifanya ni kuacha hizi sera za SHARING OF OUR RESOURCES. I think the gvt should have stopped this madness long time ago.

Binafsi at personal level nina kauzoefu na similar scenario. Utafungua biashara halafu unamwachia mfanyakazi asimamie ati wewe unazunguka huko mjini unaendelea na shughuli nyingine ukitegemea huyu awe mkweli..ukweli ni kwamba atakuibia tu, haiwezekani mtu anajua kwa 100% habari yote ya biashara halafu utegemee mtagawana faida ktk uwiano wenye manufaa, hiyo haiwezekani. The same kwene hao wawekazaji wa kigeni.

Tunahitaji kujifikiria SISI KWANZA na VIZAZI VYETU, halafu then ndio waje wengine.

Manufacturing and Use of Technology

Small and medium scales entrepreneurship

...furthermore, WE NEED TO LIBERATE OURSELVES TOTALLY. Ukombozi wa fikra zetu!! We have to believe in ourselves and seriously keep far from SELF HATRED and DENIGRATION as AFRICANS. Africans of all trappings have to appreciate and trully value their "Uafrika" as well as to refrain from worshipping Basungu in particular. In simpler terms, if you hate yourself, you position yourself squarely on a self-destruction path!! You wont emerge from that abbys.
