Businessman and insurance broker Tejas Patel has been granted cash bail of Shs7 million by the Makindye Magistrate’s Court, where he faces 15 counts of alleged aggravated human trafficking.
The court also bonded each of his sureties at Shs100 million, not cash. Patel is expected to return to court on November 9, 2026.
The alleged offences reportedly occurred in Muyenga, Makindye Division, Kampala, between February and September 2026.
Mariam Amoit, a labour attaché at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, said she would continue following up on the case to ensure justice is served.
Patel remains accused of the offences and is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty by a court of law.
