TEDx is coming to Dar! We are calling all young Tanzanian thinkers, innovators and doers to come forward!
We thank all of you who have come forward with your support and resources. This event can only be a success through collaboration and combined motivation. We call out for potential supporters to contact the TEDxDar team with their comments, feedback and ideas.
We also ask for that you continue to nominate speakers that you think will be relevant to the mission. We especially ask for submissions that relate to the first session theme defined for the event:
"What would Nyerere do?".
What is TEDx:
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
What is TEDxDar:
The TEDxDar Conference is intended to begin a process of public engagement and exchange of ideas in relation to innovation, society, culture, arts- a wide range of interdisciplinary issues that pertain to Tanzania at a local and global level. The forum is based on the belief in active discourse and public engagement in reaction to institutional constraints on creative development. The aim is to gather a wider array of individuals with various perspectives and specializations to hold TED-like 20 minute talks that will form the basis of a larger conversation.
Mkutano wa TEDxDar una lengo la kuanzisha mchakato wa kushirikisha raia na kubadilishana mawazo kuhusiana na ubunifu, jumuiya, utamaduni, sanaa na masuala mbalimbali yanayohusiana na Tanzania katika kiwango cha nchi na kimataifa. Mkutano huo unatokana ana imani katika kuendelea kwa mawasiliano na kuhusisha raia kwa kuitikia vikwazo vya kitaasisi katika maendeleo ya ubunifu. Lengo ni kukusanya kundi kubwa la watu wenye mitizamo mbalimbali na utaalamu kutoa mada za dakika ishirini za kanuni za TED ambazo zitaunda msingi wa mazungumzo mapana.
