Tanzania is the only African country blessed with more investment attractions to enable the nation to develop rapid economic growth.
The remarks were made by Chinese Embassy Head of Trade and Economy Lin Zhiyong during the launching ceremony of AVIC-SHANTUL Company for selling construction equipment.
He said China has selected Tanzania to be a place of investment due to its characteristics including peace and harmony that has been confirmed by the just-ended peaceful general election.
Apart from existence of peace and harmony, Tanzania is rich in resources such as iron, natural gas, minerals and other resources which have attracted a lot of investors from China.
China continues to adjust itself to become the World's economy leader putting behind United States and other European countries by finding new and important investment areas and Tanzania is our first priority, Lin reiterated.
On the same note the Ministry of Trade and Industry Permanent Secretary Uledi Mussa said the aim of the government is to utilize the available industries and trade in developing the economy.
Recently there had been fears that investors would flee the country due to the general election but contrary to such fears, Tanzania has proved to the world that it is a safe place to invest due to the existence of peace and harmony and that change of leadership does not disrupt the peace and security.
Talking through the phone with this website, The Economist Prof. Ibrahim Lipumba said investors should have nothing to worry about because the existing peace and harmony means greater stability to the nation's economy and there is no reason for the investors to fear anything.
Chinese sources indicate that as at the end of last year, Chinese investments in Tanzania had totalled four billion US dollars (over TZS 8 Trillion) with more than 500 Chinese companies operating in the country.
