Donors wanaangalia weakness yetu tu, corrupt government wanakupa hela kwa control yao baadae ukizidisha kwa wasichokipata wao wanakuscrew.

It depends on the type of loans taken, and the purpose of that loan. Also, execution of the project(s) which the lan was taken for. Not all loans are bad, but if you take loans to run the government, then you will most likely have a lot of problems.

Government are taking loans not by projects but by selling Treasury Bills (T-Bills) in this case for her 35% deficit in this case per budget year so is not which projects is the money going to be used for. They just want to come up with 100% of the fund and will be distributed as budgeted. If is loans for specific projects example Kigamboni bridge or Mwenge to Tegeta highway then those donors funds are not included on the budget and most of the time those projects are long term. So in conclusion my analysis is going to be true.

Certainly, that cannot be our choice; it'd just remain the very sad fate we cannot avoid - until we rectify our governance system. Self-reliance is feasible where there is strong, strategic and serious leadership. China is my best example of a "third world" country that, in defiance of the west, managed to ride its own way to self-determined prosperity. It is not a "good democracy" by the classic standards, but it has, in recent decades, enjoyed the most pragmatic leadership to be found elsewhere in this part of the global divide.

The leadership made a deep assessment of the country's "material conditions"; established its strengths and weaknesses and applied the right development strategy with a cool, steady and very determined hand. The results are clear for everybody to see. Do we see ourselves (in our current situation) making any similar headway? The right question: do we confidently see ourselves surviving without "donor - read, grants" dependency?
