Tanesco need to be held accountable for their failures of providing adequate services.
As people we are not communicating, putting enough pressure on this institution/ leaders. Have we just chosen to accept whatever thats happening? What are we fearing exactly?? A basic right?
I heard that Tanzania is facing a power rationing due to deficit of about 300MW. ( To understand it, Takes for example Entire Arusha Region need 80MW)
For past 20 years , we have been gone through a lot of promise to end power rationing, From JK era, to JPM and Now Mama Samia - The promise is the same but nothing is happening.
Botswana manage to install 300MW coal generation within one year through PPP with Indian company. through the partnership Indian Jindal Steel and Power finance the entire installation and will re coup Investment within agreed time . After the success the Botswana Government decide to double the deal by adding additional 300MW to be completed on 2024.
Botswana Coal resources is estimated to 297MIllion Tonnes.
Tanzania is blessed with coal and its estimated to have 200Million tonnes of coal per year.
Then the big Question ! what is holding a Tanzania to solve power rationing for past 20 years while Botswana manage it within a year? and atva zero costs.
while Botswana is generating 1200MW usinh coal, Tanzania are selling coal to kenya at give away price.
Mama samia .. It is high time now TANESCO need brain and we are ready to help ! As we have brain
