Barrick A frica is currently seeking to appoint a suitable candidate to work with the global spa tial data team to improve and create standard by
were and how data is collected and stored improving th bility of spatial data to e xploration and the operations by collection, conve ting
and updating to the spatial databases. Locate and validate da ta stored and type of format this data is stored with the ability to tag and
manage data loca tions and so ftware. Being able to tra n and mentor colleagues in spatial data systems and proc ss. Support and deploy
the spatial system according to business needs with maintaining Barrick standards. We are therefore seeking to appoint a person into the
following roles:
1. Solid skills in GIS applica tions, SQL, ERDAS/ESRI, Arc IS Server, ArcIMS, ArcSDE and GIS portal tools
2. Train and mentoring of users
3. Gather in formation from meetings with users and translate them in deliverables. Prepare and analyse metadata with a strong
capability of documentation, including the crea tion of training and spatial literature
4. Administration of spatial data by the means of monitoring, QAQC and archiving of data
5. Develop and support where need in the spatial data area with a focus on the Barrick Land Management program
6. Be able to work independently dealing with day to day demands.
The capability of managing projects according the Barrick PDM3
and PIAM project methodologies.

Practical geospatial experience with quality control/ uality assurance processes.
Experience with ESRI software and server applications

To prioritize work and demands from the business; have analytical skills to resolve problems with the use of GIS
applications
Be timelessly and professional and to communicate to users and fellow team members.
