Uganda's national netball team, the She Cranes, have been eliminated from semi-final contention at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games after falling 58-50 to New Zealand in their final Pool B encounter.
Despite the defeat, Uganda delivered a spirited performance and remained competitive throughout much of the contest, showcasing the resilience that has characterized their campaign.
The loss brings an end to Uganda's hopes of reaching the semi-finals after an encouraging start to the tournament, which saw the She Cranes register victories over Wales and Trinidad and Tobago.
Although the result ends their medal ambitions, Uganda's performances throughout the group stage demonstrated the team's continued growth on the international stage as they competed against some of the world's top ranked netball nations.
The She Cranes will now turn their attention to the classification matches as they look to finish their Glasgow 2026 campaign on a positive note.
