SADC foreign affairs ministers are meeting in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania for the Inter-State Politics and Diplomacy Committee (ISPDC). Tanzania is hosting the event as the current chair of the Peace and Security wing of SADC.
Top on the agenda are peace in the restive DRC and Kingdom of Lesotho, as well as consideration of the membership of the Republics of Burundi and Comoros.
What does Burundi asking to join SADC mean for the EAC? Just the other day Rwanda also asked to rejoin the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).
Will this multiple memberships in RECs impede the EAC integration agenda?
