Chile internationa lArturo Vidal was arrested on Tuesday after having a car crash while driving under the influence of alcohol, a Chilean police spokesperson confirmed. The Juventus star wrote off his red Ferrari on a motorway 25 kilometres from Santiago while he was on his way back to his national team's Copa América camp after enjoying the afternoon off at a casino.

Police chief Ricardo González told reporters that the midfielder had been driving the car, in which his wife was also travelling, and that he had failed a breath test. "He is in custody and will appear in court tomorrow [Wednesday]", González stated.

The accident happened when Vidal's Ferrari collided with another car, although fortunately no one was seriously harmed. "The driver of the red vehicle suffered minor injuries and his passenger sustained moderately serious injuries. Both drivers were given breathalyser tests, which showed that the driver of the red vehicle was under the influence of alcohol", the police revealed.

The player and his wife were taken to hospital in Buin, on the outskirts of Santiago, to receive treatment. According to witnesses, both were able to walk into the hospital without assistance.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, although Vidal has insisted that he wasn't to blame. "Today I was in a traffic accident. It wasn't my fault, I am well, my family are well, and thanks for everything", the 28-year-old said in a video posted on his Twitter account.

Juventus’ ex-director general, Luciano Moggi, revealed that Florentino Pérez was going to get rid of Carlo Ancelotti ''even if he won the Champions League''. He made these comments on Italian Radio Network,

'Radio CRC', and also disclosed that he had a substitute in mind for a considerable period of time.

"Florentino told me that he wanted to get rid of Ancelotti even if he secured a Champions League win for Madrid. Benítez was lined up to be the replacement and Florentino knew this for quite some time, irrespective of what the club would have you believe”, he added.

Moggi also took time to comment on new Real Madrid coach, Rafa Benítez. "Benítez has not convinced me, he has been unable to harness certain player’s potential and the situation with Hamsik is a case in point. For other reasons too, but let’s not forget the Napoli finished the Serie A season in fifth position”, he concluded.

Real Madrid has created a special position for a goal keeping coach to improve the quality of the goal keepers in its youth system ranks and have signed Luis Llopis for that position,Luis was Keylor Navas' Goal keeping coach during his time at Levante and both of them get along really well which hints that Casillas might be on his way out.

But till something is confirmed,nothing concrete can be said about the goal keeping situation at Real Madrid.
 

Believe it or Not But a Newly Discovered Distant Galaxy has been Named 'CR7' in Tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo.

The New York Times revealed details of the new galaxy in an article where most of the content is far too complex for our tiny brains, but they say that CR7 is "a recently discovered galaxy that existed when the universe was only about 800 million years old" and "is three times as luminous as any previously found from that time."

It has been named Galaxy CR7 for two reasons.

1. It is "short for Cosmos Redshift 7, after the method by which distant objects in the universe are dated." (obviously!)

and...
2. It is "inspired by the great Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, aka CR7."

So there you go.
No surprise that the University of Lisbon has been heavily involved in its discovery.
