Marcelo, the defender with the most assists in La Liga

He has made five assists so far this season.

Marcelo is going through one of the best spells of his career. The Brazilian is contributing in both defence and attack. In the last two games, against Real Sociedad and Sevilla, the first Madrid goal happened the same way: a Marcelo cross from the left leading to a goal from James. The White's left back is the La Liga defender with the most assists, he has notched up five. He is ahead of Juanfran and Gayá, who have provided three assists each.

The first Marcelo assist came in the Whites thrashing at the Riazor stadium. On that day, he combined with Bale in the 1-4 victory. On the next matchday, the Brazilian linked up with Cristiano for the team's third goal against Elche. The third assist came against Celta, once against Cristiano got the goal. The last two assists were finished off by James.
