(PM) – On early Monday morning, Twitter continued their crackdown against accounts in the Intelligence community by banning @IntelCrab. @IntelCrab had over 50,000 followers at the time of the suspension.
This move comes just two days after Twitter suspended @ElintNews and @BeepDelete for allegedly violating Indian law. @ElintNews had over 30,000 followers at the time of the suspension. Both accounts act as news sources in the intelligence community.
In a statement to Porter Medium of Saturday, @ElintNews stated that: “It’s rather questionable that such an organization like Twitter is evidently removing innocent accounts without even bothering to check the content after receiving official correspondence. It screams unprofessionalism. There are simply no grounds to remove my news/OSINT account. I haven’t even been informed of the Indian laws I’ve supposedly broken.”
Users in the intelligence community shared their frustrations on social media, with one user on discord stating that the ‘Great War of OSINT (Open Source Intelligence)’ has begun.
While it is unknown if @Intelcrab was previously warned by twitter of potentially violating any rules, many are speculating that the suspension is related to tweets on India.
Multiple users on Twitter used #UnsuspendIntelCrab to spread their frustration on the situation. Others expressed their concerns on censorship.

UPDATE: @IntelCrab was reactivated by Twitter mid-day Monday. The reason for his original suspension was due to violating Twitter’s policy of multiple accounts on Twitter, aggressive following, and cross-posting tweets or links on the platform. However, @ElintNews and others are still suspended.
