Plans to cut flight costs in East Africa by half

Plans to cut flight costs in East Africa by half

Just like the mobile calls rate reduction, Tanzania and Burundi will join this thing late after pressure from the citizenry who realise the benefits that can be gained. Tanzanian goverment for some reason doesn't like taking the initiative. I think the decision that Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda took to form COW has increased the pace of progress.

Who made you the peoples spokesperson?

Remind me, who was it that broke the first EAC? Now you Kenyans want it back because you think it can benefit you! I dont see what Tanzania has to gain from this union; we all know who stands to gain more!

So so juvenile mentality, kwani who goes into any union without the need to benefit. This is not undugu and udada, it's business and what matter is how you play your cards in negotiations. If you feel you don't have enough smart people to represent you on the table, then back off until you mature enough.

Juvenile thinking my foot! It is because Tanzania thinks she has little to benefit from the EAC that she is being reluctant, and you Kenyans cant bring your arrogant selves to respect that. Look at what Angola is doing in SADC; she has enough resources to stand on her own so she is not in a hurry to further the integration agenda. If you want Tanzanians to join you, you've to show them how they'll benefit. I would think a person like you always showing us the little you know about business would know that!

It's not our business to show you how you'll benefit, you have people in your system who have gone to school. Our responsibility is simple, to figure out how Kenyans will gain. It's the obligation of each country to do its own calculations, we can't do that for you. The rest of us have had our time to mull over the whole thing and have agreed on what to unite on. So Tanzania is also taking its time and we respect that, it'll eventually decide whether to catch up or chart its own destiny.

I am only thankful to the CoW initiative geniuses, we don't depend on approval from any member state to make any move. This has allowed us to be adventurous. We can experiment on so many concepts and embrace any that works and discard useless ones.

We wish you a safe journey but on your way don`t talk of Tanzania again please.Leave Tanzania alone.

Ndio hapo basi, great ideas always sound ridiculous. 21st century requires leaders who are ready to throw down the gauntlet and yell. There are so many unemployed youths and increasing on a daily basis, without genius ideas and still conservative, the time bomb will go off. Anyway thanks for wishing us "GOODLUCK".

Read the article again, did you see Tanzania mentioned anywhere, it's only you people who came bashing with your comments. We have already counted our loses. We know without Tanzania, we will be losing quite a chunk, but then again you can't keep on crying over a broken marriage, or a partner who is not interested. You count your loses and move on with life. We have to make do with whatever little we have and chart our own fate.

Thanks God has blessed the northern corridor with oil, Kenya, Uganda and Southern Sudan are now an oil economy. So with a corridor running along the nothern area, there is quite a lot to focus on. Again now we are building state-of-the-art railway system that connects the four countries, such that goods will be moving from Mombasa to Kigali within a day, I think we have enough on our hands now, we just have to work harder.

Then Kenya should stop provoking debates on the subject. Papers like The East African should be renamed to the 'CoW weekly' or something or better yet be banned from Tz. NMG is lucky that President Mkapa allowed them to set foot in Tanzania! I attended a function hosted by him and he said he did it despite all the pressure on him to deny the NMG entry. Some of us have had enough of the Kenya hub of this and Kenya gateway to that......!

Hii mkataba ulianza kujadiliwa kitambo na Tz ikakaa kando like a kid throwing a tantrum, same thing will happen with the open skies agreement, Tanzania will be "Johny come late".

Debates will always be there through so many generations to come, it's up to you close your ears and eyes to avoid listening. Your children at some point will want to know why the marriage never worked, we will watch with glee as you tell them that you declined because Kenya was to benefit.

As for East Africa paper, nobody owns the name, and furthermore, you'll keep on seeing an avalanche of Kenyan companies entering Tz. This is business, we don't care whether you love us or not, we even do business in Mogadishu as bombs are flying around. That's the Kenyan spirit, we can survive your hate, we have seen worse elsewhere. Just the other day we took over Shoprite in Tz, we are like ants "sisimizi". We have ventured into countries we don't even have any union with, check all over Africa, you'll find us in Angola, Ethiopia, South Africa, Arabic Sudan etc......that's what we are.

blah blah blah blah......ngojeeni aje rais kiboko anayejali maslahi ya wananchi wake mfukuzwe hapa kwetu. Clearly you people are not welcome here. Instead of working as comrades we work as competitors. Our kids will blame us if this accursed union ever comes to fruition! Am out!

Wake up man, you still living in the past, where a president can walk in and order people out. You people need to cross over to this new era. The new president will not come from Jamii Forums, his main interest will be to safeguard the nation and prosper it, and there is no way you can achieve such by kicking out people involved in economical activities.
