Claim
A photo circulating online, allegedly from the funeral service, shows President Ruto seated while wearing shoes covered in a lot of mud.
Verdict
An online investigation conducted by JamiiCheck has established that the image was manipulated using generative artificial intelligence.
A Google Reverse Image Search identified the original photos showing President Ruto at the event without mud on his shoes.
Through his X account, he also shared photos that do not show the alleged mud.
