A lot of us grew up in homes where the rules were clear, teachers were respected, dinner was not a restaurant menu and kids were expected to figure some things out without a commitee meeting.

But the dipper issue is not really 1992 vs 2026.
It is boundaries.
Somewhere along the way, a lot of parents started feeling like every decision needed approval from the child, the school, the internet and five parenting accounts with ring lights.

That doesnt mean everything from the past was perfect. It wasnt.
But it also doesnt mean every old school standard was harmful.

Kids need love
They also neee limits.
They need parents who listen.
They also need parents who lead.

The pendulum has swung pretty far in some homes and the results are not exactly hard to spot.

Is the goal to be loved by your kids today, or to be respected by the adults they become tomorrow?

Because you rarely get both with this current no-boundary approach.
