No doubt our diplomacy is in bad shape, part of the reasons is the alarming decline in democracy that has alarmed our development partners.

We can't contemplate this situation without putting blames squarely on people who have dragged us to such a low situation.

The situation we are in right now didn't come by accident, it was pre-planned and deliberately executed by people we trusted to govern us well and fairly. But look what has come out of that instead!

Wherever he is and wherever he will be in his career, Kabudi as a Minister of Justice and Constitutional Matters will be remembered as a man who had been instrumental in doing so much harm to our democracy to an extent that it will take Tanzanians so many years to bring it back to the levels it had reached.

Kabudi was a key player in the new Multi-party law, a law that is going to cement a fake, dubious multiparty system in the country, a law whose sole purpose is to tactically protect the establishment from any credible challenge from the opposition parties!. With this new law a defacto single party rule is what will be the reality, with this reality Multipartism for such case is a sham!. This law I believe will haunt this minister for many years to come because it is really sending back the nation to more than 50 years in the issue of democracy

Not only that, during his tenure as a minister for Legal affairs and constitution, it is a time which had witnessed unprecedented harassment of political opponents. A couple of days ago a prominent opposition leader ZItto Kabwe gave a list of opposition leaders who have cases in courts, It is as if the entire opposition in Tanzania are criminals, and this was happening under the watch of Mr Kabudi!

While all these issues are the matter of great concern for the international community and the general public, here comes a man who is partly responsible for this shaky situation going to take charge of our diplomacy for which he is a part of the people who brought it to such an alarming low situation.

I don't know what his answers will be as far as the issues of mistreatment of opposition parties and their members or the sham dubious multi parties law are concerned. Matters which his ministry was in charge of .

Kabudi a man who was a member of constitutional commission (Warioba commission) created by a former president Kikwete and who was a staunch Supporter of the committee work has been seen recently shifting positions on the Warioba constitutional draft after joining the government. He is popularly known for shifting position on the authority of the president in the country whereby when he was a common man he used to say that the current constitution doesn't let a president to have any authority in Zanzibar, but after joining the government he is defending the current constitution by saying that a current constitution grants the president a full authority to the Whole of the United Republic. A flip-flop of an epic proportions

So I am looking forward to see how minister Kabudi will salvage our diplomacy which he as a minister of legal affairs had a hand in making it to the all time low!

Kabudi is a novice in diplomacy.
Lets expect sanctions rearing its ugly head.

Appointment of Prof. Kabudi will perpetuate sour relations with our development partiners. Not because he's unable to adapt to his new duties, but he wont be able differ howerver slightly with his boss let alone exercise his independent mind in international issues.

Jambo la kuzingatia kwa sasa ni kwamba tuna a political activist like and increasingly hooligan international community in Dar. Mahiga is too diplomatic and too civilised to deal with them. You need an aggressive minister to deal with them. This is why PK is a perfect fit.

My friend: what we know about PK, among other things, is that he is an intelligent and a knowledgeable great debater with a lot of exposure locally and internationally. He’s just the right guy for the post for the apparent less diplomatic and increasingly aggressive world.

I just wonder the miss-allocation of human resources , a lawyer is made a governor in charge of our Central Bank, A professor of law is made in charge of our diplomacy and a diplomat is made in charge of our legal affairs!

Diplomcy has not been only arguing your case, thats a benign and freshmans approach.
It has been said Diplomacy is the cloak and dagger approach to foreign relations.
