More than 200 households in Luweero District are seeking compensation over alleged damage from stone quarrying, including cracked homes, flooding and disruption of school activities, prompting a government pledge to inspect the site.
Bamunanika County MP Robert Ssekitoleeko raised the concerns, calling for an investigation into the impact of the quarrying activities and compensation for affected families.
Minister of State for Environment Beatrice Anywar has pledged to send a team to inspect the site and assess the complaints.
