I had envied Rwanda under Kagame for years but now Kagame is real is right here in Tanzania. I am happy.

I don't know who these outraged elites are that the paper is referring to? This gross generalization is beneath this paper.

However, there is nothing wrong for Magufuli to adopt BEST PRACTICES from any and all leaders of Africa and the world. I would like to see more of what he is doing as long as he doesn't break the law and he respects the freedom of the other two branches namely, THE JUDICIARY and THE LEGISLATURE.

BUT, this comparison of President Magufuli's actions to those of President Paul Kagame end there. I just don't think it will come to pass that Magufuli will change Tanzania's Constitution to allow himself a third term in office, regardless of how good his 10-year rule will be. Tanzanian Opposition (parties) is much too strong to (and Tanzanians themselves will not) allow it.

A maximum of 10 years is quite enough for a presidential term. There are plenty of smart and highly capable people in Tanzania (ruling party and opposition) to effect more and better changes other than Magufuli alone. It will be a great insult to Tanzanians if Magufuli (GOD forbid) ever contemplates it.

Hey, here is an idea, maybe other countries in the region may want to emulate this (2-term) BEST PRACTICE. It might actually work. Just a thought!
