One week missing: Where is journalist Eria Jjengo?

It has been a week since journalist Eria Jjengo, who works with BaBa Television, went missing, raising concern among his family, colleagues and the station’s management.

Jjengo was last seen on Thursday last week when he reportedly left the television station to buy snacks for breakfast. CCTV footage from the station captured him leaving the workplace, but he did not return.

His colleagues became concerned after several hours when his personal belongings remained at his desk and attempts to reach him on his mobile phones were unsuccessful.

BaBa Television management and Jjengo’s family have contacted security agencies to establish his whereabouts. Some agencies contacted have reportedly indicated that he is not in their custody.

The station has also reported the matter at Kira Road Police Station, with efforts continuing to locate him.

Colleagues describe Jjengo as a fearless and dedicated journalist and are hoping for his safe return.

BaBa Television has appealed to anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the station or relevant authorities.​
