Nadhani hii ni good idea: nenda chuo ambacho kinakupa misingi mizuri katika kila field ya IT, then kikufundishe how utapply kwenye real world. I had my choices before, I wanted to do networking but then I changed. The proper start enabled me to change thru IT fields. I can still do networking till today. There could be a good college which could teach you JAVA, but not programming and certainly not software development. Sometimes as IT students we miss the point, I may 75% comes from your determination and the remaining from lectures.
As a starter you are might not be sure what to do in IT, I suggest you go to proper Univeristy or institution. your choice now affects your whole career, after this comes masters you also need to do that in a proper University, 'shitty' undergraduate gives 'shitty' postgraduate. Do your research, wanna go learn in the street and get those worthless certificates (though u get to be good in JAVA, Cisco, Oracle) , or get a heavy weight cert while teaching yourself some of the street staff!
One more thing, IT changes rapidly!!
