D should be able to give a correct answer in that he can see two people in front of him. The two people in front of D signify presence and absence of color. So using the probability theory and seeing the trend, he can easily guess the color of his cap right in that. no color starts followed presence of color (Black). Going by this trend, it is probable that the next color is most likely no color (White).
