VACANCY OPPORTUNITIES
INTRODUCTION​
The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a statutory Health Insurance Scheme,
which established to undertake the responsibility of insuring medical care services to its
members.
The Fund commenced its operations on 1​
st July 2001. Its head office is located at,
Kurasini (Bendera Tatu) Dar es Salaam, and has 12 zonal offices in DSM, Morogoro,
Dodoma, Moshi, Arusha, Iringa, Mbeya, Mtwara, Mwanza and Tabora .
NHIF now seeks to recruit dynamic, intelligent and result – oriented Tanzanians with
high integrity, to fill the following vacancies:

1. ASSISTANT QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER III - 4 POSTS
i. Duties and Responsibilities​
•​
Conduct inspection and supportive supervisions of health facilities.

•​
Deals with verification and checking of prescriptions.

•​
Makes researches or market surveys with a view to establishing the
actual costs for services, medicines, pharmaceutical items and
other medical consumables.

•​
Initiates accreditation processes for health facilities.

•​
Takes measures to solve minor problems arising from management
of clinical cases.

•​
Ensures that the National and Professional Standard Treatment
Guidelines and the Fund’s policies, regulations, procedures and
standards are adhered to by services providers.

•​
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

ii. Qualifications and Experience Required​
•​
Degree in clinical medicine/pharmacy/nursing or equivalent
qualifications from a recognized institution.

•​
Certificate of Internship and/or registration to the relevant
professional body.

•​
Minimum of 3 years working experience in related field.

•​
Ability to work independently

•​
Knowledge in computer application will be an added advantage

•​
Preferably not more than 35 years of age
2.
CLAIMS OFFICER III- 9 POSTS
i. Duties and Responsibilities

•​
Receives and registers payment claims.

•​
Verifies all claims received.

•​
Registers all rejected claims.

•​
Delivers or dispatches benefit reimbursement.

•​
Ensures that all files are kept in order.

•​
Makes follow-up on rejected claims.

•​
Compiles information (inputs) for preparation of various reports
regarding benefit issues.

•​
Performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

ii. Qualifications and Experience Required​
•​
Degree in Social Sciences preferably in Insurance, Social Security
Administration, Business Administration, Management or equivalent
qualifications.

•​
Minimum of 3 years working experience in related field.

•​
Ability to work independently

•​
Knowledge in computer application will be an added advantage

•​
Preferably not more than 35 years of age

3. COMPLIANCE AND FIELD OPERATION OFFICER III- 9 POSTS
i. Duties and Responsibilities​
•​
Receives and compiles information on compliance.

•​
Assist with employers’ correspondences on various compliance
issues such as outstanding statutory contributions, penalties etc.

•​
Assist with collection statutory contributions and penalties from
contributing employers.

•​
Assist in making prompt responses to queries and complaints on
compliance issues.

•​
Assists and supports Area and Zonal offices in responding to
difficult queries, following up non-complying employers and in the
management and updating of contributions records and other
related statistics.

•​
Prepares periodic reports on all compliance activities and submit
the same to the immediate supervisor.

•​
Ensure employers’ files are kept in order and in safe environment.

•​
Updates and maintains contribution registers.

•​
Assist in coordination of members and public education activities.

•​
Assist in conducting corporate public education programmes on
various issues/activities of the Fund.

•​
Assist in designing, overseeing production and distribution of
educational materials.

•​
Participate in stakeholders’ educational needs assessments.

•​
Performs other related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor
from time to time.

ii. Qualifications and Experience Required​
•​
Degree in social science preferably in Insurance, Business Administration, Management,
Social Security Administration or equivalent qualifications.

•​
Knowledge of computer application will be an added advantage.

•​
Minimum of 3 years working experience in related field.

•​
Ability to work independently.

•​
Preferably not more than 35 years of age.

4. DATA ENTRY CLERK – 10 POSTS​
i.​
Duties and Responsibilities

•​
Performs clerical/data entry work as assigned by the supervisor

•​
Keeping records/registers of all processed claims at Data Entry
Section

•​
Ensures that all files are kept in order

•​
Compiles information (inputs) for preparation of various reports
regarding benefit issues

•​
Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the
immediate supervisor

ii.​
Qualifications and Experience Required

•​
Diploma or Certificate in Computer or Secretarial Studies from
recognized institution

•​
Typing speed 50 w.p.m. and shorthand speed of 100 w.p.m. in
English

•​
Tabulation and manuscript stage III

•​
Must have proven excellent computer skills in at least Ms-Word,
Ms- Excel, Ms-Access, Ms-PowerPoint, and Ms-Office

•​
Minimum of three years work experience in similar position

•​
Ability to work independently and as part of team work

•​
Age below 35

5. DRIVER II -3 POSTS
i​
) Duties and responsibilities

•​
Drives Fund’s Motor Vehicles

•​
Maintains Vehicle’s log book

•​
Reports Motor vehicles defects

•​
Providing technical advice regarding motor vehicle maintenance

•​
Observes driving procedures, traffic rules and regulations

•​
Ensures the motor vehicle is in clean at all times

•​
Performs other related duties as may be assigned by Human Resources
and Administration Officer

(ii) Qualifications and Experience​
•​
Posses Certificates of Secondary School Education ( Form IV ) with
passes in English and Kiswahili

•​
Should hold a Class “C “valid Driving License with at least three (3) years
of clean driving experience in reputable organization.

6. CLERK OF WORK​
The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) is a body corporate established under the
NHIF Act No 8 of 1999. The Fund has embarked on a Diagnostic and Medicare Centre
project at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Dodoma.
The Fund is looking for a qualified, experienced and registered engineer to supervise all
civil and structural components associated with this project. The successful applicant
will be in a contract of at most one year depending on the completion date of the
project.
Minimum qualifications for interested applicants are as follows:
a) University degree in civil/structural engineering from a recognized institution
b) A minimum of ten years experience in supervision of buildings, roads and water
reticulation/sewage disposal
c) Registered with Engineers Registration Board and Member of the Institution of
Engineers Tanzania
d) Driving license Class D​
