EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Arusha Technical College (ATC) is an autonomous Institution established by the Government Notice No. 78 of 30[SUP]th[/SUP] March 2007 that replaced the then Technical College Arusha that existed since 1978. The vision of ATC is to be a centre of excellence in training, research and consultancy in science and technology in Africa by 2020. In order to fulfil its functions properly, the College is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Tanzanians to fill in the following vacancies:

  1. BURSAR (1 Post)
Qualification: Holder of at least Bachelors Degree or equivalent with possession of full professional qualification CPA (T), ACCA or equivalent from a recognized accounting body. At least five years of working experience as a senior accountant in reputable organization and must be registered by the NBAA.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Heads the Accounting Department.
  2. Plans, co-ordinates, direct and control all financial accounting matters.
  3. Prepares and maintains proper accounting records.
  4. Prepares monthly, quarterly reports and any other financial information required
  5. Prepares financial statements for auditing.
  6. Prepares estimates of income & expenditure.
  7. Prepares sound investments plan for the College.
  8. Performs any other duties as may be assigned to him/her by his/her seniors.
Salary Scale: PGSS 19
Terms of Engagement: Four years contract renewable once upon satisfactory service for a maximum of two terms.

  1. Senior library assistant II (1 Post)
Qualification: Holder of Diploma in Librarianship from SLADS with at least 3 years working experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Performs library clerical duties
  2. Registration of readers
  3. Issuing of books to readers
  4. Receiving books from readers
  5. Assist in cataloguing and classification of books, journals reprints
  6. Performs any other duties assigned by his/her seniors
Salary Scale: PGSS 9
Terms of Engagement: Permanent and pensionable

  1. SENIOR SUPPLIES OFFICER II (1 Post)
Qualification: Holder of at least Advance Diploma in Materials Management or Bachelor Degree in Procurement and Logistics.
Holder of Certified Supplies Professional (CSP/CPSP) or equivalent with added working experience of at least three years.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Ensures full responsibilities for the entire procurement of supplies functions;
  2. Co-ordinates and forecast stores requirements;
  3. Ensures maintenance and amendment of stock level figures;
  4. Supervises the work of junior staff working under him/her.
  5. Co-ordinates and assists in stock-taking or verification.
  6. Supervises and ensures early submission of periodical returns.
  7. Ensures that stock replenishment is taken at the right time.
  8. Performs any other duties assigned by senior staff.
Salary Scale: PGSS 13
Terms of Engagement: Permanent and pensionable


  1. MATRON GRADE I (1 Post)
Qualification: Holder of a Bachelors Degree with a bias in Education/Social Science or Advanced Diploma in Social Science or Community Development.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assists the Dean of Students in Students’ counseling and guidance in his/her respective Hall of residence
  2. Coordinates students’ culture, recreational and sports activities in his/her Hall of residence
  3. Takes care of students’ welfare and ensures that the sick are urgently treated and taken care of satisfactorily
  4. Serves as an advisor to students Government at Halls of residence
  5. Attends meetings of the Hall assembly
  6. Issues permits to students who may experience emergencies that need absence from campus.
  7. Assists the Dean with any other administrative tasks as will be required.
  8. Ensures that the Colleges by laws and regulations guiding the students’ life in Halls of residence are being observed.
  9. Takes necessary action where such By-laws and regulations are violated.
  10. Performs any other duties assigned by his/her seniors
Salary Scale: PGSS 10
Terms of Engagement: Permanent and pensionable


  1. ARTISAN I (1 Post)
Qualification: Holder of Form IV with Trade Test I in Welding/Fabrication
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Performs routine specified tasks that demand higher technical skills under supervision.
  2. Keeps the work place tidy.
  3. Collects and takes care of working tools.
  4. Carries out minor repairs and maintenance.
  5. Reports maintenance problems to senior staff.
  6. Performs any other duties as assigned by the relevant senior staff.
Salary Scale: PGSS 6
Terms of Engagement: Permanent and pensionable

  1. SENIOR ASSISTANT MEDICAL OFFICER III (1 Post)
Qualifications: Holder of Advanced Diploma/Higher Diploma of at least two years in Clinical Medicine and must have been registered with Tanganyika Medical Board (under Cap 409) and working experience of at least three years in a similar position.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Work with subordinate staff to ensure that sick students and staff receive quality health care services.
  2. To be on duty daily as shall be assigned by his/her supervisor-Management/Principal.
  3. Ensure that he/she provides assistance to medical legal issues that may arise.
  4. Shall be responsible to procure/advice purchase of all essential medical supplies and equipments that are needed to render services in the health centre.
  5. To attend other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor/management.
  6. Practice general medicine and pediatrics.
  7. Plans, implements and evaluate health service of the College Dispensary.
  8. Prepares plans for preventing catastrophe and emergency cases
  9. Conduct health researches for improvement of health Services.
  10. Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by immediate Supervisor.
Salary Scale: PMGSS 9
Terms of Engagement: Permanent and pensionable
