MV NODL Stalls on Lake Victoria After Both Engines Fail

The water vessel, MV NODL was left stuck in the waters of Lake Victoria this morning while travelling from Bukasa to Nakiwogo after reportedly developing a mechanical fault that caused both of its engines to fail.

The vessel was unable to continue its journey as efforts were launched to restore its engines and get it moving again.

MV Kalangala diverted from its usual route to assist in the rescue operation and help the stranded vessel.

The passengers and crew aboard MV NODL are reported to be safe, with no injuries or other casualties reported so far.

Efforts to get the vessel moving remain ongoing as the rescue operation continues on the lake.
