Former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has revealed he could return to English football at the end of the season.
Van Nistelrooy's contract at Hamburg expires in the summer and the 34-year-old is widely expected to leave the Bundesliga club.
He was denied a return to former team Real Madrid in the January transfer window and has not ruled out a move back to Spain.
However, Van Nistelrooy is also interested in playing in the Premier League again after spending five seasons at Old Trafford earlier in his career.
"I am thinking about a nice club in England after this season," Van Nistelrooy is quoted in the Sunday Mirror.
"Or a club in Spain, but I don't think Real Madrid will come again after their efforts to bring me back in the January transfer window.
"I have decided that if a really big European club does approach me, I will accept a role as reserve striker.
"I would have accepted that too if the deal with Real Madrid had come off in January.
"They knew I was ready to step in when needed."

Klose scored three minutes into the game, Müller added two more before half-time and Klose completed Germany's fifth win in five qualifying games late in the match.
Germany top Group A with 15 points, while Kazakhstan have no points and no goals at the bottom of the group. Austria are second at seven points and play Germany next.
The home side got off to a flying start, with Klose racing past two defenders at the far post to knock in a free-kick from Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Klose's second goal in the 88th raised his Germany total to 61 in 107 games. He now needs seven goals to tie Gerd Müller's national team record.
"It was not a very strong opponent, but they were organised and compact in defence," said Klose, who was cheered by fans in Kaiserslautern, where he played club football at the start of his international career 10 years ago.
With Germany firmly in control, the second goal also came from a set piece. Mesut Ozil supplied the cross for Müller to send it in with a glancing header.
Ozil, the Real Madrid midfielder, also set up Germany's third in the 43rd minute, finding Müller with a long cross inside the penalty area. The striker controlled the ball with his chest and slotted it into the low corner.
"It wasn't a difficult game for us. We knew we'd win and we let up in the second half," Ozil said .
Germany combined well and quickly and kept Kazakhstan on the defensive, with Lukas Podolski testing David Loria with a good effort from the left but the Kazakh goalkeeper stopped the shot. Loria also did well to stop two consecutive close-range shots from Klose in the 28th minute.
After 65 minutes, Mario Gómez came on for Podolski as coach Joachim Löw switched to a formation with two strikers. Zhambyl Kukeyev brushed the outside of Germany's post in the 71st minute, with some home fans whistling as Löw's side began to lose cohesion.
The Germany coach responded by bringing in Toni Kroos and Mario Götze for Schweinsteiger and Müller, respectively, and Götze quickly created a good opportunity for Klose, who dribbled too long and lost the ball. But the 32-year-old striker, the veteran in Germany's team, collected a pass from Sami Khedira for an easy goal in the 88th.
Klose has been overshadowed this season at Bayern Munich by Gómez, but his scoring record for Germany has made him Löw's preferred strike
