Please share to raise awareness – the end of the year can be a particularly difficult period for many people.
It’s so important we learn these signs to help identify those at risk.
The more aware we are of these signs and the quicker we are to spot them, the more enabled we will be to give the support, love, and direction to professional services needed to help those who are suicidal.

- Talking about existential things e.g. what’s the point of life .?
- Talking as if others would be better of without them.
- They socially withdrawn all of a sudden .
- They appear in survival mode e.g. hypersensitive to small irritations.
- Pushing themselves in a self destructive way.
- Talking about wanting to die .
- Displaying extreme moods swings.
- They’ve talked about ways to die or kill themselves.
- Talking about being a burden to others.
- They ‘ve said they don’t know how much longer they can go on.
- They’ve expressed an extreme amount of grief or suffering whilst going through a difficult life transition .
- They’ve said they don’t see a way out of a difficult situation / experience they’re having.
- Behaving recklessly.
- Struggling to find the meaning in life or the things they used to.
- Increasing use of alcohol or drugs.
- Talking hopelessly about the future.
- They’ve practiced self harm.
- They’re experiencing a lot of distress relieving trauma.
- Talking about feeling trapped/ suffocated / smothered e.g. by responsibilities of suffering.
- They keep talking about how much they want to stop suffering.
- Expressing strong amount of self hatred .
- They’ve stated life is pointless.
- They can’t envision the future they want to live in .
- They feel like no one cares about what happened to them.
- Expressing extreme loneliness and isolation.
