Kwanza, nianze kwa kusema hii issue ya regional integration, there are two ways of looking at it. There is the short term effects of it and then there is the long term effects that sum up to a so called bigger picture!
I think Tanzania may stand to lose a few things in the short term, but we should be farsighted and see beyond that. Tanzania's population is fast approaching 50million and is growing real quick. If there is ever to be a Federal Government of EA, it will comprise over 50% Tanzanians, thanks to the sheer majority of Tanzanians in the EA union. It will also be headquartered on Tanzanian soil. Tanzania will also be the breadbasket of the entire EA as well as energy powerhouse. Kenyans have massive geothermal potential and we have gas. Together we can rise up, we just have to make those sacrifices, however painful they may first appear to be.
Honestly, i think regional integration is the right way to go, but we should do it in a way that everyone benefits. Tuandae national agenda tutakayostrive to attain within the EAC...what are we in the EAC for? Once we answer that question tutaua hii 'Kenya-TZ' cold war. Wakenya wameshajibu hilo swali na ndio maana wanachakarika!
