Malawi Queens regained the top spot in Africa and moved to position 5 in the world due to successes in Australia and Singapore.
Malawi had lost the top position in Africa to South Africa early this year.
This is mainly due to playing very few games and losing to South Africa at the World Netball championships. This was the only defeat to South Africa in six years.
But after a good run at the World Netball championships in Singapore and a comprehensive win against South Africa in Perth last month Malawi are level on points with South Africa but Malawi have a better rating.
Malawi will not participate in the FastNet Netball series in Liverpool England this month and will be solely missed as it plays entertaining netball and is the only team that can compete with the top four. Last year, Malawi drew with Australia at this series.
