Lukwago Charged with Misprision of Treason

Former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago appeared in Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court today charged with misprision of treason and denied the charges.

Lukwago, who serves as lead counsel for detained opposition leader Kizza Besigye, was recently arrested in a raid at his home and linked to Besigye’s ongoing treason case.

PFF Leader Erias Lukwago has been remanded to Luzira Prison until Monday, June 22, 2026 for mention of his case and ruling on bail application.
