BBC NewsA 26-year-old County Wicklow man has been found dead on a beach on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar. Rob Stringer had been working for an Irish charity in the east African country.
His body was discovered at about 0800 BST on Friday. It is understood Mr Stringer had suffered head injuries and that his wallet and shoes were missing.
It is believed he may have been mugged. Relevant authorities in Tanzania are investigating the death.
Mr Stringer had been working for the Irish charity Camara, which provides second-hand computers and other technological aid to African countries.
The Department of Foreign Affairs in the Republic said it was providing assistance to the man's family, while the Irish embassy in Dar-es-Salaam was "working on the ground" with Tanzanian officials.

Belfast TelegraphThe Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed a man has been arrested in connection with the death of an Irish aid worker in Tanzania.
26-year-old Robert Stringer from Co Wicklow was found on a beach in Zanzibar with head injuries on Friday morning.
His wallet and shoes were missing.
It is understood the man who was arrested is from Tanzania.
Mr Stringer had been working for an Irish charity Camara, which donates second-hand computers to African countries, for the last eight weeks.
His body is expected to be repatriated later this week.
