National carrier Kenya Airways has reported a loss of Sh 7.59 Billion for the 12 month period ended December 2018 from a loss of Sh 6.41 Billion reported in the nine month period ended in December 2017.
The airline attributed the loss to the high cost of fuel, high salaries and fleet ownership cost which account for nearly two thirds of the its operating costs.
Revenue for the 12 month period increased to Sh 114.45 Billion compared to Sh Sh 80.79 Billion reported during the 9 Month period ended 31 December 2017.
“Kenya Airways current liabilities exceeded Its current assets by KShs 101.540 million (31 December 2017: KShs 106.422 million). These events or conditions, along with other matters as set forth In note 2(e) of the audited financial statements Indicate that a material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on Kenya Airways Pie’s ability to continue as a going concern.” Its auditors, Deloitte noted.

Hapo Jambojet not accounted for!
KQ owns Jambojet so obviously Jambojets is accounted for. And BTW, Jambojets makes profits.
Alafu si ni wewe ndo ulikua unasema 'uliskia' loss ya KQ itakua 'kubwa!' kabisa !!!!! Zaidi ya $250m. !!!

BTW hio ripoti wana compare full year 12 months 2018 loss na 9 months 2017 loss .sijui kwanini anafanya hivyo labda alikua anataka taarifa ilingane na kile alichokua anataka kusema kwahivyo akapunguza 2017 Hadi 9 month ili aseme loss ya 2018 imezidi kuongezeka... .... Full year 2017 loss was actually 10 Billion. So KQ reduced the loss from 10B to 7.5B.

Very dumb people in Tanzania. Including the 'economists'.
Comparing 9-month losses to 12 month losses.

https://www.the-star.co.ke/news/2019-04-30-kenya-airways-reports-sh59-billion-net-loss-in-2018/

Even so, the airline’s management has defended the increase, stating that financial year 2018/19 covered 12 months compared to nine months the previous year.

"This therefore means that the 2018 results are not directly comparable with the 2017 results as it is a representative of 12 months against the 9 months in 2017," Chairman Michael Joseph said.

Umeona hapo mambo matatu ambayo yanasababisha KQ kupata hasara?
1)Fuel cost
2)Salaries
3)Fleet ownership

Leasing is more expensive than buying?
Can you get any dumber?

Also, the losses have been declining 4 years in a row.

Fuel cost, salaries, maintenance cost...etc. ATCL is comparable to fly540, jambojet or African Express not KQ !!!!

That accident will be paid for by the insurer.
Na hii hasara kubwa utaingoja hadi ukufe. KQ losses are only going down.

Last year they changed their reporting schedule. But analyst calculated the loss to be about Sh10.2 billion full year.

The previous year it was Sh26 billion. Very incredible progress.

''Ukinunua ndege zako mwenyewe by cash''. 😂😂😂. Wacha nisikucheke.

Fuel cost, salaries, maintenance cost...etc. ATCL is comparable to fly540, jambojet or African Express not KQ !!!!

Sasa kama hizo gharama zote zipo chini, vipi KQ inaendelea kupata hasara year in year out?, basi ninyi ni failed state original, kama mambo yote hapo ni OK, but nothing works, then ninyi Mungu amewalaani.

Biashara gani ambayo ATCL wanafanya? Au ripoti ya CAG sujaielewa?
