Mimi sioni somalia ikiwa dhaifu Kivita.

An interesting article from Mashable.com which I bring here ad verbatim
Should the U.S. Shut Down a Somali Militant Groups Twitter Account? Zoe Fox22
The U.S. government is concerned the Shabab, the Somali specially designated global terrorist group, is using its Twitter account to recruit new members from the West.
The New York Times reports the State Department said they are looking closely at the millitant groups use of its Twitter account, @HSMPress, which it began using Dec. 7.
The accounts bio says, Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen is an Islamic movement that governs South & Cen. Somalia & part of the global struggle towards the revival of Islamic Khilaafa. In the past two weeks, @HSMPress has sent nearly 120 tweets and amassed more than 5,300 followers. Almost all of the posts are in English, suggesting they are intended primarily for a non-Somali audience.
Many of their tweets emphasize the groups fight against the Kenyan military, who entered Somalia in October to battle the Shabab.
The Obama administrations concern, however, is recruitment of new militants, the Times reports, not Kenyan provocation. Mashable has asked the State Department for comment and will update the story if we learn more.
In the accounts early days, the bulk of its followers were journalists, terror researchers and aid workers, not Muslim youth interested in joining the movement, Wiredreported.
Since the Timess report, the Shabab has responded to of the U.S. governments concern over its account.
HSM Press Office @HSMPress
How many accounts would #US government be able to close before realising the futility of their attempt? They need a team now to monitor HSM!
The Shababs embrace of Twitter is ironic in its own right, considering the group is infamous for its rejection of all things western, keeping foreign aid from reaching famine victims and banning signs of culture from music to bras from the regions it controls.
The group has pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda, and is known for tactics such as cutting off hands, starving the Somali population amid famine and ripping gold teeth out of mouths.
Whether or not the U.S. government chooses to shut down the Shababs Twitter account, it opens a larger discussion. Does the U.S. government have the right to shut down social media accounts? Twitter is an American company. Does that give the U.S. sovereignty over the entirety of its content?
I have read the article and it seems to me the writer just wants to exonerate the US from her complicity. It's hard to believe that the US was caught unaware given the country's penchant for war, especially "war against terror". Afterall, the US intelligence has been closely knitted to the intelligency agencies in the region, in the aftermath of the simultaneous 1998 bombings, for such a plan to "pass under their radar" (unnoticed).
Witness: Kenya Air Raid Kills at Least 7 Somalis MOGADISHU, Somalia December 21, 2011 (AP)
A witness says that a Kenyan air force raid killed at least seven people, including a child, in a village in southern Somalia.
Town elder Ali Hashi said Wednesday that he saw the bodies in a clinic following a bombing raid in Hosingow. He says one jet appeared to target a base used by al-Shabab insurgents and another bomb hit elsewhere in the village on Tuesday.
A Kenyan army spokesman confirmed that two air raids had been carried out but says no civilians were killed. Maj. Emmanuel Chirchir says 17 al-Shabab fighters were killed.
Kenya has conducted numerous air raids in southern Somalia in the past three months. Kenya sent troops over the border into Somalia two months ago following a string of attacks by Somali gunmen on Kenyan soil.

EXPLOSION IN DABAAB, TWO SHOT IN GARISSA An explosion believed to be a grenade occurred near a training centre in Ifo Dadaab on Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported but police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile on Monday night, two people were shot and seriously wounded in Garissa town in what police believe is a new tactic being employed by Al-Shabaab militants' sympathisers in the area
The two, barbers, were shot at close range by gunmen who escaped without stealing anything from them.
Witnesses and police said the gunmen walked to the barbershop at about 8pm and shot the two in the chest and head before escaping on foot.
Police on Tuesday said the victims were admitted at a local hospital, and were in stable condition.
North Eastern PPO Leo Nyongesa said no arrest had been made but they are investigating the motive and those behind the attack.
The attack happened hours after a police officer was killed and two others injured in an explosion executed by a gang of Al Shabaab sympathisers at the Hagadera refugee camp, in North Eastern Kenya.
The injured officers are still in hospital in Garissa. Their colleagues have complained injured officers are abandoned in hospitals in the area. They want their superiors to intervene.
"These officers need to be airlifted to Nairobi for treatment but they have been abandoned here. It affects our morale," said an officer on the ground.
@Kibona, Askari kanzu & your bongo fratenity. There is to much untold suffering here, So, wakati tuna jadiliana hapa, let's do with with full sobriety. The third picture is Dadaabs aerial view. the biggest in the world

Mzalendo452, despite my efforts to compaginate those three pictures and deflocculate your remarks, I still feel my argumet is holosteric, i.e Kenyan military is facing a katabasis in Somalia, due to lack of tangible prior planning. Dadaab has never been the casus belli for this war. What I am witnessing among Kenyans now is kakorrhaphiophobia which is translating itself into inaniloquency. This could have been avoided had Kenya known of the contretemps that were inherent in this untenable Somali adventure.

Mkuu Askari Kanzu, umemuona Kiranga kwa karibuni?
Ukikutana nae umwambie jamaa zake wanamsalimia.
Security services are at an unprecedented state of alert amid reports that Al-Shabaab, the Somali terrorist group, has dispatched bomb makers and assassins to eliminate Defence Minister Yusuf Haji and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim.
Interviews with various security officials revealed that a detailed operational plan was sent to commanders of security agencies on Wednesday.
The plan includes a guide to officers on terrorism prevention, detection and how to act in case of an emergency.
New measures have resulted in the security of selected ordinary public places being upgraded, albeit temporarily, to the status known in security parlance as "vital installations."
Normally, vital installations would, among others, include airports, military barracks, police stations and foreign missions in Kenya.
This means the newly upgraded areas will be provided with the same level of security as the sensitive installations.
In Coast, a central command is manned round the clock by officers from all agencies, including the police, military and the National Security Intelligence Service.
The new entrants into this category include some churches, hotels, selected entertainment joints, shopping malls as well as some media houses.

Ally Kombo, not really. But as someone conversing with these imperseverant Kenyans I have come to discover, ab initio, that in order to be inexpugnable and put them in situ, I am obliged to deploy vocal ballistics of altitonant character so as to elumbate and render them anandrious. These people still wallow in, (to quote Patrick Obahiagbon), cankerous tribalism, ethnocentric chauvinism , syphilitic parochialism and catalytic parapoism. To most of them, the command of English (that colonial language) is a litmus test, a sine qua non, of academic excellence. And that's why!

Ndo hivyo mkuu, wote tunawashangaa.
