Find out your why

You gotta ask yourself, "Why do you even want to stop being shy and awkward?"

"To impress others?", "To make your circle bigger?" or something else?

Jotting down the reasons will incentivize you to actually start working upon it.

Don't just aim blindly.
Remove the labels

The first step to stop being shy and awkward is to stop saying that you are shy and awkward in the first place.

The more you keep identifying yourself with those labels,

The harder it's gonna be for you to come out of their shadow.

Choose your words wisely.
Groom Yourself

Become the best version of yourself:

  • Eat healthy
  • Hit the gym
  • Get more sun
  • Style your hair
  • Learn new skills
  • Make more money
  • Do the things that scare you
Correct your body language

Your physiology affects your psychology.

Stop contracting and stooping yourself. Don't fidget.

Walk with your back straight and occupy as much space as you can.
Stop running away

Understand this, there's no magic pill that can simply take your shyness away in a snap of your fingers.

You gotta put yourself in situations you keep running from and face them full throttle.

The 'uncomfort' is where the real 'growth' lies.
Specify the root cause

Being shy and awkward is just a symptom of some other cause that's deeply rooted within you.

Figure out the hidden reason.

Was it your childhood? Or perhaps a big embarrassing moment?

Whatever it is, until you sort that out, you aren't going anywhere.
The world doesn't care

If you think the world is keeping close track of your actions and care about your life,

You are in for a big surprise.

Nobody and I mean NOBODY cares about you.

They are busy living their own life.

So stop looking over your shoulders all the time.
You can change

If anyone told you that you can't change the way you are because you have been 'shy' all your life

They are wrong.

You just need to expose yourself to different circumstances:

  • Go out more
  • Speak in front of a group
  • Talk to at least 1 new person every day
Steer clear of negativity

Anyone who blatantly disrespects you and eviscerates your self-esteem...

Shouldn't have any place in your life.

On your journey of improving your social skills,

Someone breaking your hopes is the last thing you need.

Find people who support you.
Track your improvements

What gets measured gets improved.

Create small goals and accomplish them.

Keep track of it and gradually keep bumming up your goals.

The proof of your growth will inspire you to keep moving.
It's OKKKKKKKKK!

As long as it's not hurting your personal or professional life,

It's absolutely fine to be a tad shy.

Being awkward can become a positive trait if you know how to wear it with confidence and chutzpah.

Don't change yourself just 'cause the world wants you to.
If you want to:

1. Conquer your mind
2. Get rid of overthinking
3. Discover your life's real meaning
4. Achieve your most ambitious goals
