Spermatogenesis is controlled by hypothalumus and anterior pituitary gland working together.

The hypothalumus release gonadotrophin releasing hormone(GnRH) which travel towards the anterior pituitary gland which in turn GnRH stimulate anterior pituitary to secrete gonadotrophins hormones.

These gonadotrophins hormone are follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) and luteinising hormone(LH)-

In males FSH stimulates spermatogenesis by stimulating sertoli cells to complete development of spermatozoa from spermatids.

LH stimulates synthesis of testosterone hormone by leydig cells.

Testosterone stimulates growth and development of the germinal epithelial cells(spermatogonia) to form spermatozoa.
