Do you know what? Mr. Haule a former LGBT Voice Activist and Human Rights Advocate currently live in Germany where he went to seek refuge from the Persecutions he faced here in Tanzania for his Activism he is currently under threats of Deportation to Italy. It is believed that Mr. Haule has escaped Tanzania with Italy-Schengen Visa to Germany but now is being subjected to Deportation in accordance with European Regulation known as Dublin Regulation which states that a Refugee or Asylum Seeker must register and stay in first country he landed or applied visa to enter Schengen States or Europe States this rule is used as a mechanism to stop what so called Asylum shopping whereby applicants keep on moving from one State to the other after negative decision or looking for a better life or social and economic situation of another member state. Some law experts called the Regulation “dubious” doesn’t fit The Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, also known as the 1951 Refugee Convention. The experts lamented that the Regulation fell short to address humanitarian grounds of vulnerable people and victims of sexual violence or torture.
This should be used as a wake up call for most young people who think that they can fight the system here and hoping to get protection abroad. Those who inspired us to stand up and fight for our rights are the same people who rejected us when we knocked on their doors for help.
This should be the wake call for those who risk their lives fighting for others hoping if things goes wrong they could escape and get refuge in the civilized countries. I support human rights but not western governments practices.
If returned here Mr. Haule could face up to 30 years to life prison terms may be more serious reprisals.
