PROFILE
Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation is a Public Services Broadcaster, established on 26[SUP]th[/SUP] March 2006.
TBC was on satellite since 2003 which enabled it to cover the whole of Tanzania and beyond boarders.
Terrestrially, TBC has its own transmitters in almost all capital cities of all regions of Tanzania mainland and reach Zanzibar via its transmitters located at Kisarawe, Coast Region. Internationally, TBC is on DSTV, which makes it viewed internationally.
TBC has two TV channels, namely TBC[SUB]1[/SUB] and TBC[SUB]2[/SUB]. TBC[SUB]2[/SUB] is already on digital platform and currently covers 9 regions of Tanzania. Efforts are underway to make TBC[SUB]2[/SUB] cover the whole nation.
In addition, TBC has three Radio stations, namely TBC Taifa, TBC FM and TBC International. TBC Taifa and TBC FM covers the whole of Tanzania and across boarders. TBC International mostly covers Dar es Salaam and whole Indian Ocean coastal strip. In near future we expect it to reach more wider area. Furthermore, TBC has its own website which is another platform to reach the public.
