For Serious Discussants Only: How Do We Address the Following Challenges?

Colleagues,

I am thinking of using this forum and other online fora to catalyse discussions on how we use our potentials to bring about change in our country. I need us to use the internet as an opportunity to do something about our daunting challenges as Tanzanians and therefore I expect contributions that would enlighten us or which provide solutions for furtherance of our development cause. The premise behind this is that; a lot of people concentrate and thus waste a lot of time looking at one closed door instead of exploring for possibilities of many other open doors. Many people focus on just talking about the challenges we face as a nation instead of working hard to find solutions for them. A lot of us focus on looking up to the government for solutions instead of working hard to offer solutions. Some few young elites, and of course even our mentors/teachers, have become myopic and thus are looking only on one thing - uprooting the ruling party. Is it the only door open? What about other options like forging partnerships? What about adopting political consultation systems to govern our economy?

To me the following forms the major challenges we face today as a nation: poverty and food security, unemployment, illiteracy, diseases, energy paucity, widening inequities, maintaining peace and security, poor mindset, poorly performing institutions, and having a true form of democracy...not just having elections and winning the majority votes but how do we protect the rights of the minorities? How about the rule of law?

To address the problems we face, I suggest the following: we embark on major reforms on our institutions that govern our politics, economics and social fabrics. We have a golden opportunity now that we are in the process of writing our new constitution. What do you think? Lets enjoy a fruitful discussion here.

You have set this motion to defend the ruling party, you are too late my dear, there is only one chap who won through that, that is, Mwigulu Nchemba who spark his miserable for political rank in the Parliament until he won the rank as Deputy Secretary General for Mainland. Now one question for you "What have you done to your constituency particularly for the youth to open your invisible doors. Go back and whisper to them that you have found invisible doors for them. Do not make a show up game here for your political defensing and rank seeking. Thanks a lot!!! Wanafiki wakubwa nyie!!! You pretend you have ideas for development once the doors are found you seek your greedy investors to suck whatever you find. You have really made my day the worst.

Well, the most exciting challenge we have is the lack of patriotism to many leaders in the ruling party including you. Take an example your colleague Hon Aden Rage he has been vindicated to endless of corruption affairs starting from CDA Dodoma, DRFA ,FAT, simba and now Tabora urban MP. To all position I have mentioned he has proved a hell of a mercy. Now how can we forge ahead if we continue with that kind of leader? . So, the way forward is first to get lid of the current ruling party, because I believe is the one posing difficulties to our development now,if we maintain the status quo we will continue to decline, reaching the millennium development goal you have mentioned will be a day light dream.

thanks for the good idea! youth no longer discuss problems that we face as a nation. they only think about their parties. parties first then our nation later. this ideology is wrong! youth are divided and not ready to comment negatively about their political leaders. we are in the partisan war. it is time for us to change and think about problems that we face as a nation. I don't believe that all civil servants who spoil our resources by dealing in corruption are ccm members. civil servants belong to different political parties. it is high time we unite and consider our nation first then our parties

I don't believe that all civil servants who spoil our resources by dealing in corruption are ccm members. civil servants belong to different political parties. it is high time we unite and consider our nation first then our parties

the problem with many members is that of focusing on individuals. you hate mwigulu as an individual. we better discuss national problems. I don't believe that all civil servants who spoil our resources by dealing in corruption are ccm members. civil servants belong to different political parties. some are pro chadema, cuf, nccr etc.. it is high time we unite and consider our nation first then our parties

Unless you are kidding, otherwize utakuwa na akili kama za yule jamaa wa magogoni aliyesema "Sijui kwa nini waTz ni maskini"...

We may comeup with lots of suggestions here and i'd like that BUT we have been suggesting daily n here is not the bigining, the issue is we have never seen our ideas are being dealt with or practically implemented. So do you think this forum will be special and fruitful?

Great Scramble, take into clear consideration that ones idea becomes a touch to others, if you are a roll model everything you do is marked, now the worse and the better of Mwigulu are marked.

The challenges you brought are the far outcomes of what we failed and will remained to be a vicious circle. If the rule of law is like how PM addressed in the parliament then we are in big trouble. In order to break this vicious cycle, we should start with nationalizing what have been grabbed by MAFISADI and putting them into the jail. Then we should improve the education system of our county not only by building classes, but also by equip them and motivating teachers. For improving piece and security we should restructuring the current police-CCM to be for all civilians. Most of our TAXES collected are leaked to "unknowns", this could help to contribute in many of the development projects and social services. At the moment we don't have good leadership, many are not loyal to their professions but are loyal to the corrupted system of CCM. This is the one of the major reasons why many institution failed to performed as expected. The restructuring should also done in TBC, TRA, president advisers, Mwigulu Nchemba, Nape Nauye etc.

Kwa kuwa wewe mwenyewe umeliita ni Jambo la maana ukaona uandike kiingereza ili ukamilishe kuwa Mtu (kutoka ngedere kufikia Binadamu) ila mambo ya kingese ya CHADEMA na CCM ndio unaandika kwa Kiswahili, halafu unajiita kiongozi mtetea wanyonge, wanyonge gani hao, Wamerekani nini na madiaspora?

We are also Civil Servant. We always observed how the system is corrupted and threatened us who want to serve for the nation. Then we forced to joined them for our survival. If you found clean in a corrupted system then your noted as a BIG enemy.

Mheshimiwa, mbona solution zipo wazi ila wote tumevaa miwani ya mbao (japo spika wako hapendi hii kauli, au sijui alisahau kama ni nahau!)kuziona hizo solutions? Kuna vitu ambavyo hata nyie wenyewe bungeni mnaviona havifai lakini kwa kauli nzito mnapitisha bajeti zake. Mkulima anashindwa kufikisha mazao yake sokoni kwa ubovu wa barabara, lakini nyie mmeelekeza nguvu kwenye barabara za miji mikuu. Mnaongeza nguvu kwenye maendeleo ya miji mikuu, ili hali ile ya pembezoni mkiiacha yatima.

Fedha nyingi sana zinatumika isivyo na watendaji tuliowaweka madarakani, bila kusahau mafungu yanayojitengea kuja kuwasilisha bajeti zao! Hii yote ni diversion ya funds ambazo zingetumika kwa maendeleo yetu wenyewe! Ndani ya yote haya utawala wa sheria ndio umefeli kabisa, wamebaki wanahamishiwa sehemu nyingine ili wakaharibu zaidi. Tunapiga kelele na kilimo kwanza, do we really mean it? Sekta ya kilimo ingepewa kipaumbele kama mnavyopiga makelele majukwaani mbona tungekuwa mbali?

Asilimia kubwa ya waTZ siyo wafanyakazi, tena nafikiri tungeanza kusema kuwa nchi yetu inaundwa na wakulima, wafanyakazi na wasio na kazi. Asilimia kubwa ya wasio na kazi ingeweza kutupwa kwenye sekta ya kilimo, kama tungeamua kwa nia ya dhati kukipa kipaumbele, kilimo siyo lazima mahindi tu, na mboga mboga nacho ni kilimo ambacho soko lake ni zuri tu. Lakini je, yule kijana aliyeko barabarani kama mmachinga, anaweza kuwa transformed kuingia huku? Lile dirisha lenu la TIB linaweza kum-support? Thubutu! Anayekuwa supported huku tayari ana range rover!

Huyu Kingwangala, alisomea wapi? Dr mzima anaandika Kiingereza cha hovyo namna hii kuanzia tenses ni mgogoro hadi kufikisha ujumbe?. Halafu kinachonishangaza watu wanapoteza muda kuchangia. who doyou think has the mandate tostop civil servants from their corruption practices?it is ccm.they have everything needed to do so but they turn a blind eye.it is because they are also corrupt.starting with their chairman to the sg and all staffs.we first have to get this rotten system out of power first,and believe me manythings will be allright.

it is not only ccm that has to fight corruption. war against corruption has to be fought by the society in general. me, you and him or her. it is a national problem. that's why the presenter of this thread is asking us to address solutions to the grave national problems including corruption.
