Ethiopia to sell power to East Africa

First of all, I am a man.

Same page;

Page 11;
"Under the apartheid system, which prevailed until 1994, development progressed on racial lines, and this pattern pervaded the energy industry. Consequently, the focus of electricity provision was on heavy industry, mining and white households which formed about 12 per cent of the total population."

The socialist thinking of the black government (however right they are to improve the people's lives) had to subsidise (more of this page 20). Why? Because people cant afford it. In the West everyone can afford it because the income levels allow it.

"The electricity distribution industry was going to reformed to address the constraints to achieving the primary objective of meeting lectrification targets, and ensuring high quality supply at low-cost and equitable price to all consumers."

.

Good to see now you do a little bit of homework!

The paper in question is old and poorly written but it gives some glimpse of what the current black-led government is doing. The majority of the population didn't have access to electricity before 1994 but things have changed rapidly thanks to the introduction of the universal access to electricity by 2012 program. Between '94-'95 the percentage of households electrified stood at 50% however by the end of '10 that number raised to 83% surpassing the (pre)set target of 80% by 2012 and the work is ongoing...

The moral of the story is any government which implement sound policy will make sure that her citizens are given access to electricity first before thinking of exporting it to other countries...

There is a lot of research work on the subject if you are interested you can PM me.

No, the moral of the story is, a country needs to be industrialised to enable more people to afford electricity! The RSA's black goverment re-distribution programme rides on the whiteman's work!!

Maybe you should give an example of a black industrialised nation (not RSA) with the research work you are talking about, then it would hold water, but for now, give props for Ethiopia's forward thinking (taking into account the beef from Egypt and the UN).

If you want to share work, just share it here with everyone. I work in the Energy industry, so I too have access easy access to anything in that field.

Lets stick with countries we started with, given to your above assertion, you really look like some one who is desperately trying to make us believe that Ethiopia with 40% household connectivity percentage is far more industrialized than Kenya which have 16%!!!

If that is true then you need to up your game and stop to use outdated research work...

LOL, you have tried hard to manouvre about and dodge the questions i have posed you, glad you have come around. So now that we agree that Addis Ababa and Nairobi are slightly more industrialised (wow, it must be a beauty contest then huh?), it must be the reason that they attract more International organisations than Dar. Talk about incoherence!!

So from your current up to date research, what positive news do you have to share with everyone here in regards to the Energy sector for Tanzania or for any "black african" industrialised country?? Coming from someone who put a link from google?

Dont generalise, simply say you have a lower IQ compared to Somalis and Ethiopians.
Ha!Ha! Ha! Smatta, you are also commiting a fallacy of generalization only that you are proceding from the particular to the universal and the so called 'one man...' is proceeding from the general to the particular. How is it that you did not even realize it?

It is plain simple that you can't backup your claims, if you can prove that Ethiopia, (40% electrified) is 2.5 times more industrialized than kenya and Tanzania (16% and 15% electrified respectively), or more industrialized by all E.A.C. block countries combined (KE 16% + TZ 15% + RW 7% + BD 2%),then yes i will agree with your pathetic arguments....

Trolling?, this shows who you really are in black & white...shule za kata zina unafuu!!!
