PROGRAMMER ANALYST & SYSTEMS ENGINEER
PPF is a social security institution established by Act of Parliament No.14 of 1978. The Act was further amended in subsequent years to reflect and accommodate new developments within the social security sector. The main objectives of the Fund is to provide pensions and other related social security benefits to all employees in the parastatal organizations, private companies, NGOs, self employed and those in the informal sector.
In its endeavor to further develop the organization and improve performance, the Fund wish to fill the vacancy position of Programmer Analyst and System Engineer currently
existing within the organization. Applications are invited from energetic, proactive, result
oriented and dynamic Tanzanians to apply for the post.
1.0 JOB TITLE: Programmer Analyst
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and Test modules of computer applications under supervision
Develop reports as per user requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve software problems
Monitor performance of software applications
Document system problems and resolutions for future reference;
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed,
stored or accessed by the network;
Develop User and Technical manuals for applications
Receives requests for assistance from users in a pleasant and professional
manner
Searches documentation and previous requests for assistance on related
topics to establish possible solutions. Documents any findings on the log;
Any other duties related to the Fund as may be assigned by superior from time to
time
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications:
BSc. Computer Science, Bsc. Electronics, BSc. Information Technology or any related
discipline AND demonstrable excellent skills in php programming.
2.0 JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To monitor network performance;
To provide first line support for networks;
To install software on PCS;
To monitor and implement antivirus and patch management.
Monitor Performance of all hardware systems
Ensure provision of clean power to all hardware
Design and implement storage systems
Undertake capacity planning for servers
Respond to help desk queries related to servers, hardware and storage
Implement and monitor security of all hardware including encryption and
physical security
Design and implementation of Local and Wide Area Networks
Coordinating the acquisition and availability of Internet access
Designing and implementing Demilitarized zones
Monitoring network performance
Implementing antivirus and anti-SPAM software
Resolving problems related to network access
Maintaining network diagrams
Administering user access to mail/ web and domain servers
Any other duties related to the Fund as may be assigned by superior from time to
time
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Qualifications:
BSc. Electrical Engineering, BSc. Electronics, BSc. Computer Engineering or any
related discipline.
