JamiiCheck conducted a thorough investigation using open-source intelligence and found the images to be misleading.
Two images (image and 3) that appeared online were at least two years old and were taken during Israeli protests against the government’s judicial plans on Saturday, March 11, 2023.
Different media outlets reported on these protests, including the BBC through its website. The title read “Israel sees one of its biggest-ever protests,” explaining that hundreds of thousands of Israelis protested against the government’s judicial plans.
Another image was found to be from protests that occurred in August 2025, when Israelis gathered at Tel Aviv’s “Hostage Square” after Israel’s security cabinet approved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to seize Gaza City, according to GazetaTema.
Another image was found to have been taken on March 22, 2025, showing people taking part in a protest in Tel Aviv demanding the immediate release of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
