Km meter gauge inabeba mzigo wa maana what about Sgr kupiga double stacks, View attachment 1187697View attachment 1187698View attachment 1187699View attachment 1187700View attachment 1187701View attachment 1187702View attachment 1187703
Ha! mpaka mnaanza kukosona sasa, get on the same page kwa DM!!!!But TAZARA is not MGR!
20 mln tons but axle load of 25 mln n caravan less than 1 km n a single track. That's a big lie!Ha! mpaka mnaanza kukosona sasa, get on the same page kwa DM!!!!
Tofauti ziko tele
Tazara iko na capacity ya 5m tonnes SGR Kenya iko na 22 million
Tazara track ni 1,067mm wakati SGR kenya ni 1,435 mm ambayo ndo standard guage
Tazara ilitumia type I concrete sleepers, SGR Kenya ilitumia type II
Zote zilijengwa na mchina llakini hizo reli mbili ziko far from bieng the same! na hata sijui kwanini mna obsess na hii issue, Kwani mnafikiria reli yenu haifanani na reli nyengine yeyote????
Kujenga reli yenu 0.6meters from the ground hata ile reli yetu ya 1901 ilijengwa hivyo

- Two workers were on Monday killed after a culvert they were working on collapsed along the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in Naivasha.
Four other workers sustained injuries after they were buried when the trough collapsed in the Mai Mahiu section that was under construction.
A worker who spoke to the Star stated that the section was compromised structurally following rains that had been experienced in the area over the past week.
He stated that the culvert collapsed without warning as his colleagues got trapped under the debris.

"They were six and we managed to retrieve four who were rushed to hospital but the other two had died before we could rescue them," he was quoted by the Star.
He added that he had a loud bang followed by screams from the workers stating that the victims had no protective gear at the time the section caved in.
"Had the contractor provided safety gear, the lives would have been saved. We challenge the government to direct them to provide the same to us," he explained.
Area OCS Ezra Sambu confirmed the incident conveying that the injured workers would be transferred to Kijabe Mission Hospital for treatment.
Mr Sambu stated that investigations were underway to establish if the collapse could have been prevented and establish if the deaths were as a result of negligence.
Earlier in June, a Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) train heading to Mariakani was involved in an accident when it knocked down a cow killing it instantly.

Standard Gauge Railway workers held a protest following the death of a colleague who fell from a 100-feet high bridge.
The employee, who was working at section 7 of the line at Ongata Rongai, was identified as 25-year-old Victor Baraza. He fell while trying to avoid an oncoming wagon. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The workers accused their employer, China Communications Construction Company, of not implementing enough safety measures that could prevent such an accident.
The workers demanded a risk allowance due to the nature of their work. They said they work under tough conditions, including harassment. They also said they work more than eight hours in order to beat the October deadline.

“We lack many things here in section 7 including safety gear such as belts, and boots and first aid kits,” said Brian Onyango, a supervisor.
“Life is more important than work. There will be no work until our demands are met,” said Onyango.
The Section 7 team is mainly involved in track laying and beam erections. The standard monthly payment for most workers is Sh25,000, but can be higher depending on individual skillset.
Onyango said the language barrier made it hard to communicate with their employers.
Company Spokesman Steven Zhao said they had compensated the family and dismissed claims they tried to cover up the incident.

He said the company was working to address the issues that had been consistently raised by the workers.
“For such a big project we can’t hide anything… we release all the information including the progress. We do compensation, we try to improve our safety regulations and ensure that this kind of incident does not happen again,” he said.
Mr Zhao said that new regulations were yet to be set on the risk allowance.
“After this kind of case we have internal discussions if we should provide risk allowance for the workers,” he said.
Section 7 has 560 workers and Zhao said about 300 had been involved in the go-slow. Zhao added that was the first major accident at the section.
