These disruptions come after two of the airline’s long-haul aircraft were taken out of service for unscheduled maintenance, meaning they couldn’t operate their scheduled routes. Airline officials assured passengers that safety remains the top priority while they work to source parts and technical expertise to get the aircraft operational again.
This setback follows ongoing challenges for the carrier, including earlier complaints from passengers about delays, cancellations, and luggage issues. The recent problems have also coincided with a change in leadership at the airline, noted by the departure of its former CEO, Jenifer Bamuturaki who was fired earlier this month because issues to do with flight delays and continued delays which have till now persisted.
Despite the frustrations, the airline says it is working hard to rebook affected passengers and restore full services soon.
