"So, it was on OLX. He was selling a Galaxy S7 Edge at 15k, but we agreed on 13k. So, I set off for Tao and he told me to meet him at Afya Centre. When we met there, he began to walk me towards a certain building behind the health centre. Then he told me that the Galaxy S7 Edge had already been sold because someone had offered more for it.
But he told me that he had a Galaxy S9 Plus and he would give it to me for 13k. The moment I saw the phone, I lost it. I really wanted it. The phone was fully functional and I could tell it was original (I'm good at that). I began to bargain for the S9 and he said 18k was the final price, but then he dropped it to 15k. I couldn't believe I was only 2k away from getting the Galaxy S9.
I didn't see that the deal was too good because I wasn't thinking clearly. Finally, he accepted my offer of 13k, so I went to M-Pesa to pay him. After that, he handed me the phone in a manner that suggested he didn't want anyone to see us. I didn't care much about that, so I slid the phone inside my pocket. He then told me to exit the building from the other side since he claimed, "people shouldn't see us doing phone business".
He went in the opposite direction. I was so excited that I rushed to the stage as if I didn't want him to change his mind and take back the phone. I got into the car, took out the phone from my pocket, and pressed the power button. It was solidly stuck. I looked at the back of the phone and realized that I could open the back cover (which was odd because the Galaxy S9 has a unibody design).
After I opened the back, I was shocked to find that it was empty inside, with just a piece of metal to add weight and some coins. That image still haunts me. I ran back to the place where we met, and people in Tao must have thought I was crazy, judging by my face. I went home feeling stupid. I'm still trying to get over the incident."
