Accident ,Accident,Accident now and then,
Who said a properly trained driver is unprofitable? If the state of driver training is to be believe. Then it is time for change! Why continue the idiocy?
Changes would seem needed, for some time now if we are to believe crash statistics on our highways. The current licensing status quo for any vehicle should explicitly describe itself as a license to drive, NOT as a license for safe driving.
To educate all licensed drivers to have the awareness, skills, and expectations needed to prevent injury-causing crashes requires an upward adjustment of societal expectations regarding the role and responsibility of drivers.
Until this fundamental change in expectations occurs, driver education cannot advance far as a science, profession, and effective intervention to improve road safety.
How can we help each other around this issue?
