BURUNDI: Colonel Rufyiri killed outside his home

Rtd. Colonel Rufyiri has been gunned down outside his home in Bujumbura by gunmen.

He is the second high ranking Tutsi officer to be killed after the late General Kararuza who was killed on the 25th of April, 2016 on the streets of Bujumbura while driving his kids to school.

The event of today is the continuation of different assassination events of different high ranking members of the army being killed in the streets of Burundi by unknown gunmen.

This has come when the mediation efforts are taking place in the Northen City of Tanzania, Arusha under the leadership of the former Tanzania President Benjamin Mkapa.
