Boda Boda Crashes Linked to Nearly Half of Recorded Injuries

Health officials have raised concern over the rising number of motorcycle crashes, saying boda boda accidents account for up to 49% of all injuries recorded at medical facilities.

Dr Jane Marion Nakyeyune, a Principal Medical Officer in the Emergency Medical Services Department, made the remarks during the launch of a three-year Boda Boda Health and Safety Project in Nakawa Division.

The project is being implemented by Community Integrated Development Initiatives (CIDI) in partnership with Danish People’s Aid (DPA).

Kampala Lord Mayor Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo also spoke at the event, saying his experience with poor road infrastructure inspired him to join politics.
