According to police, the suspects arrived on two motorcycles, with two of them entering the restaurant disguised as customers before suddenly drawing pistols and ordering everyone to surrender their valuables.
The gang stole seven mobile phones and an HP laptop before fleeing towards the Parklands area. As they escaped, the robbers fired two shots into the air to scare off anyone who might have attempted to pursue them. Officers later recovered a spent 9mm cartridge at the scene.
CCTV footage circulating online shows the masked gunmen pointing firearms at frightened customers as they quickly collected valuables. Several patrons were seen taking cover while others remained frozen in fear during the robbery.
Investigators have since tracked some of the stolen mobile phones to the Kariobangi area, giving detectives fresh leads as they intensify the manhunt for the four suspects.
The incident comes just days after another armed robbery in Kahawa West, where an M-Pesa attendant was attacked and robbed of approximately KSh250,000 by three armed suspects.
Police say they are stepping up operations against criminal gangs using motorcycles to carry out robberies across Nairobi, with detectives pursuing multiple leads to bring those responsible to justice.
