Shit happens, people change, feelings disappear, things fade and things go wrong, memories remain but life goes on. There are people who you think will be in your life forever that become distant memories of your past.
It is sad when the person who gave you the best memories becomes a memory. How do you make people who used to be everything into nothing again. How do you learn to forget. How do you force forgetting.
When your life revolves around someone, they do not just stop doing so even if all that is left is some semblance of their memory. There are always those bits that stay.
The memories that are impressed on the places you went and the things you said and the songs you listened to remain.
You eventually find yourself standing in the checkout line, hearing one of those songs come on and realizing that you are revolving around them again. And maybe you never stopped.
Believe that you either love someone, in some way, forever, or you never really loved them at all. I do not want to believe that we write each other off because we simply do not matter anymore.
Feelings fading, and people changing is a part of life, and if you are growing as a person, not everyone will grow with you. You do not have to forget your past, learn from it and use this wisdom.
