African Satellite World and Sat Gear

Al Jazeera channels will be moving to a new frequency on Nilesat come 1 January 2016, affecting viewers across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

From the start of the new year, Al Jazeera Arabic will cease to broadcast on 10992V and 11564H; Al Jazeera Mubasher will no longer be at 10796V and 11526H; Al Jazeera Documentary will stop broadcasting at 12054V; and Al Jazeera English will no longer be found at 12015V on Nilesat.

Instead, viewers should retune to 10971V on the Nilesat orbital location for all channels broadcast by Al Jazeera Media Network.

"This change is part of Al Jazeera's continuous pursuit of the latest technologies in the world of satellite and digital broadcasting. The new frequency will ensure uninterrupted access to Al Jazeera channels for our viewers in the MENA region. It will be placed on the recently launched Eutelsat satellite in the same orbit," said Ibrahim Nassar, manager of teleport, Al Jazeera.

Hey , THATS NEAT, Which LNB are you using cuz I have a 130 offset and I get 201 and 7WA though 201 cracks when cloudy and 8WB seems elusive. Am in Nairobi as well. Towards Limuru.

I see you are having PMS again.

Qite a number of fellas on this board who have had first hand experience with openbox seem to really dislike it. I suspect that box is not meant for a novice. Judging by the passion with which some people seem to hate openbox v? I would say it is likely what they have experienced with it is nothing short of a nightmare. While encouraging guys to buy it please do your best to give them the benefit of the apparently warranted disclaimer warning.

Can I get Astra 2F @ 28.2E West Africa beam, using 135cm dish with inverto black ultra from Dar es Salaam?. If anyone is receiving it please confirm

I appreciate your sentiments. Openbox V8 Combo is great box albeit with issues on the p*vu front (It does not open some p*vu channels as is the case for other boxes and video keeps freezing). Nonetheless, it is perfect in other areas. It was working perfectly on D*GiTU*K and accepts B*SS keys. It has a very sensitive (good) tuner for both T2 and S2. Picture and Sound quality is excellent, few boxes can compare on this front. It also performs very well on C*CAM and IPTV (You can even create custom IPTV lists).

Updates are freely and readily available on their website, freesat service. Some people experienced problems with their boxes during upgrades mainly due to use of incorrect procedures. (Others confessed to using the USB port on the box to charge their phones causing the box to behave erratically).

All this problems we have managed to resolve amicably after consultations with the owners and so far i'm not aware of any Openbox V8 Combo that is sitting somewhere permanently bricked. If there is such a case i would love to engage freely with the owner and assist. Additionally, the boxes do come with a warranty and its just a matter of contacting the seller and see how best to resolve issues.

Having said that, for best performance on the P*Vu front, the Freesat V7 Combo is recommended. Its from the same company as Openbox V8. In my opinion, combo decoders are value for money. More details on www.freest.cn.

Regards

Can you please tell us more about freesat v7 combo specifications.
